We recommend you care for your AKWA HOME covers in the same way you would a treasured item to keep them in tip top condition and to last you many years. Because we use high quality natural fibre denim weave our covers are both breathable and durable. Meaning they don't get smelly like polyester covers. A quick spot clean will usually suffice. We've had ours for years and found the best ways to care for them are as follows.

WASH YOUR DOG 
On cover washing day, wash your dog, that way your cover will stay cleaner for longer - simple but effective!

SUPER DIRTY DOG? 
Chuck a towel down on top of your freshly cleaned dog bed until your dog has its bath.

FLIP IT OVER 
If your cover is looking a little drab, simply flip it over - as they are all double sided, no-one will ever know!

COLD HAND WASH 
When Needed - for removal of light dirt and mess, a gentle cold hand wash with standard washing detergent is recommended for ultimate care and longevity.

HEAVY SOILING
Any heavy soiling (blood, food etc.) will require immediate removal and hand washing and light dabbing with a soft sponge. DO NOT use harsh stain removing chemicals such as napisan and bleach on your cover as this will ruin the denims colour.

WASHING MACHINE
We recommend hand washing for longevity. If you choose to machine wash your cover we strongly advise you select a COLD, GENTLE CYCLE & ENSURE THE ZIPPER IS FULLY CLOSED! Our denim covers are VERY heavy when wet and the rough, thrashing motion of a washing machine can put extreme stress and potentially damage the zipper if not closed. 

AIR INSERTS OUTSIDE 
Our inserts are very big and dense which is amazing for comfort, however once wet they can take a long time to air dry. While they are able to be hand washed, we encourage you to spot clean and air outside to give them a quick refresh and get you back to using them asap.
